It’s a daytime stress case,
dialing for rebates,
trying to find the line between the bars
and in the suitcase.
A workplace gossip mop-up,
clean the shit out and let’s stop it,
talk up the values they deny you,
because only you supply you,
and they should watch it if they try you:
you’ve got the HADOKEN like Ryu.
Take it away, take it away.
We never had it anyway.
There’s no time to lose,
you’ve paid your dues,
they’ve taken their toll and now you’ve got to choose;
’cause life’s not a balance of the good and bad,
and if you let them sell you then you’ve been had,
if you can’t get even, then just get glad,
’cause life’s too short to just stay mad.
Take it away, take it away.
We never had it anyway.
It’s not a story with a happy ending,
because nothing ends while we’re still sending;
so take this bit of advice I’m lending,
you’ll never stand straight if you keep on bending.
So stand up straight and stand up right,
and rage against the dying light;
you know you got skills straight out of sight,
why keep them caged until the night?
Take it away, take it away.
We never had it anyway.
Take it away, take it away.
We didn’t want it anyway.

Sorry I haven’t been around. My posting frequency depends greatly on my current hobby. If it’s reading or video games, I end up slacking on the blog. (And let me tell you, I have been a book reading, videogaming FIEND lately.) Fear not; This won’t be the last you’ve seen of me!
You were my first blog link, ever. Therefore, you’ll always be on my blog-list. It helps that you’re totally rad, of course.
Reading and gaming are noble hobbies, and two which I personally hold in high regard. But punning! Ahhh, punning is a noble art above and beyond …
Glad to hear you’re well. I anticipate a villainous return of astonishing piracy, multitudinous punditry, and all things caulk.
:*)
I like you. Your super-hero power is poking in with your flashlight and knowing just what to say when you see the green-orange glint of eyeballs reflecting back at you.
I might be coming out to visit at the end of the month, ’cause I might sorely need to be away from the O-town for awhile.
You’ve teased me with this whole “I might come visit soon” thing before. I tell Crookshanx; Crookshanx gets excited; it all ends in disappointed lizard tears when you never show. And those tears leave coffee-like stains on the carpet…
But yeah, you should totally come visit. Oly is still rockin’ it like you wouldn’t believe. 🙂 I’ll be in DC the 19th-23rd, so don’t come then.
Glad you liked my rap. I’m like … the 18th beastie boy.
what’s goin’ on in dc?
Services for my grandmother. She’ll be buried next to my grandfather in Arlington Cemetary. Lots of family will be there though, which will be nice.
ahhhh… give everyone my best. and thank your mom for the cool card she sent me last month!
